It's a good, old-fashioned divey bar with lots of history. Always a great craft beer list (draft). The bar food is good, the steaks are fine, not great, but it's a casual, not too expensive night out. Service is usually good, though hit or miss depending on the crowd.

Very cute place to grab a drink. The inside has lots to look at and it's cozy. We only had drinks but we saw the menu and some of the plates come out. Everything looked good! They also have a small salad bar. Looking forward to returning for some good eats!

So glad we made it! The kitchen got a lil busy after awhile, but the beers & wings & bar staff made it great. Excellent spread of unique & interesting beers, even a couple sours that hit the spot. Killer wings n things. Can't wait to try more. Setting is total mix of family Irish pub & pungent local hang out (not the smell, the ambiance). Even some fun acoustic jams in the evening. Worth a stop!

I like this place. It's a pub with food. Nothing fancy but really good down home food. Their hamburgers are fantastic as are their steaks. Service is definitely no frills but the hostess was fantastic. We changed our minds four times when we were seated. We were pains in the ass, but; a smile never left her face even though she had people waiting to be seated. My husband had a coughing fit, she noticed and brought him water without us asking. I would have loved to have had her as our server. Her name starts with an M that's all I remember. We will be back because the food is cheap and really good -what more can you ask.

This place has a nostalgic old timey dive feel. You feel like family the minute you walk in the door. The clientele is a bunch of regulars joking and mingling. Soon after taking a seat at the bar, I learned the bartender's name was Tony who also happens to be the old irishman that runs the joint. I came here specifically for a tap takeover by nearby Magnify Brewing. Who knew an old divey irish pub could have a stellar craft beer menu? Tony is generous in providing sample pours so you can taste and decide what beer to order. Got a chicken pot pie alongside the brews to soak up the alcohol. Flaky crust was perfect for absorbing the chicken pot pie juices and a terrific companion to my stable of IPAs. I will be back to poor Henry's!

I can't believe how many years went by when I would pass Poor Henry's without knowing what I was missing. I'd heard some rumors in the early 2000's that weren't so kind, and I never thought of it as a place I'd like to go to. Fast forward to today, and it's an establishment that I'm happy to pop into from time to time. Unique beer lovers rejoice, as Poor Henry's likes to pour a heck of a lot of beer. The taps are awesome, and they serve a really good quantity of quality beer. The list seems to be refreshed frequently, and I have yet to bring a beer lover here who isn't satisfied with the selection. And what could you possibly need when you're in a festive beer drinking mood? Why food, of course. I can't say that I would ever come here just for the food, but I can tell you that the offering is decent, prices are OK, and portions are good. I've had everything from sliders to crazy concoctions of fries while friends have had waffles and chicken (so good, they say, that they want to make the hour trip back up north just for the meal). If you're in the mood for laid back and casual with friends, give it a go.

Definitely my go-to spot for craft beer near my new location! Their taps are constantly rotating with great choices - I can't complain! Want a hop-bomb IPA? How about an 11% imperial stout ('Tis the Season!)? It's there! Craft beer not your thing? That's okay - they have a full bar and bottled beers (but I'd try at least one microbrew if I were you!). The vibe is laid back and has become a very mixed crowd. You have the loyal, long-term patrons but you also have new visitors checking out the craft beer offerings. From time to time they have live music, and there's super fun trivia on Tuesday nights. As for the food - I've noticed a big improvement over time. Favorites include the Roast 1/2 Chicken (regular menu) and the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich (often on the specials). The Chicken and Waffles are pretty tasty as well. I find that sometimes their burgers fall short, but that's about it. All in all, Poor Henry's has a great thing going on - great beer, great atmosphere, pleasant bar tenders and servers. It's so easy to see why they have such a loyal following.
